Summary

We are seeking a Senior Director of Supply Chain to lead global planning and execution across a complex manufacturing and sourcing network. This role is accountable for balancing supply and demand while achieving optimal inventory levels, high service performance, and competitive cost outcomes.

The Senior Director of Supply Chain develops and executes strategies that maximize value across global manufacturing value streams while managing the operational, financial, and geopolitical risks inherent in a global supply chain. This role directly influences revenue performance, margins, working capital, and service levels across a multi-hundred-million-dollar business.

Reporting to senior executive leadership, this position establishes national and international performance benchmarks, leads the supply chain planning function, and continuously improves systems, processes, and decision frameworks. The role provides leadership oversight for a national planning organization and supports a large, distributed installation and fulfillment footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and institutionalize the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Own demand planning and production planning functions at national and global levels
  • Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned to revenue targets and service level objectives
  • Optimize inventory turns
  • Reduce slow- and obsolete-moving inventory (SLOB)
  • Lead SLOB disposition strategies
  • Maintain service performance metrics at or above target levels
  • Order fill rate
  • Backlog (dollars and aging)
  • Fill-rate cycle time
  • Report, analyze, and forecast inventory and service performance against budget
  • Identify variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Evaluate and improve supply chain processes through automation and simplification
  • Partner with Sourcing, Product Development, and IT to deliver training for systems and planning tools
  • Design executive-level reporting and dashboards to enable data-driven decision making
  • Lead annual national and international planning cycles
  • Support new product introductions through capacity, sourcing, and inventory planning
  • Provide executive-level responsiveness in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment
  • Support nationwide installation and fulfillment operations
  • Drive initiatives to improve unit fill rates while operating within approved financial plans
  • Leverage global sourcing opportunities to improve margins while maintaining corporate social responsibility
  • Monitor industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing dynamics, and macroeconomic indicators
  • Conduct regular operating reviews with strategic suppliers in partnership with Product Development and Sourcing leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain planning or related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing, demand planning, and global supply chain management
  • Proven implementation of enterprise-wide S&OP processes
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems; Oracle experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing company-owned manufacturing operations and offshore supplier networks
  • Demonstrated leadership of global planning organizations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Project leadership and cross-functional influence at senior levels
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • APICS CPIM certification
